History
Electa Chapter #3 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship was established in 2004 to provide an opportunity for graduating high school seniors in marginalized and low-income communities so seniors are not disadvantaged based on academic or financial circumstances.
In 2004 there were ten scholarships awarded; each scholarship recipient received $1000.00. All Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply for successive scholarships each year of their college career.
To date there has been a total of 42 scholarships awarded for a total of $42,000. Over 95% of our scholarship recipients successfully completed college, and some have shared their college experiences with the new recipients during the chapter’s orientation workshop for new college students
